My Memories Suite Giveaway!

I first discovered my love for creating and crafting when I started scrapbooking  13 years ago. I loved how I could take a piece of card stock or patterned paper and create something amazing with it. I am a detailed person and really liked adding on all the little embellishments that make the pages look even better. Two of my three boys have scrapbooks. However once my third kid came along, my time had been divided in so many other directions and interests that getting his scrapbook made never happened!
When digital scrapbooking came out I was really hesitant do try it because I felt like it took out alot of the creativity and it just didn't seem tocompare. However my mind set has changed completely as digital scrapbooking has evolved and there are so many options, programs and ways to create digitally now. I also love the idea that there is no mess to clean up and it is a major time saver to go digital.  I now know that when I get around to making my last scrapbook for my third child it will be a digital scrapbook! While  I may never glue my own scrapbook together again I still get my paper crafting fix by making my cards.
Soooo onto my giveaway! I have had the opportunity to try out this digital scrapbooking software called "My Memories Suite" and its pretty awesome. You can create your scrapbook from scratch but there is so much more you can do with it than than that. You can also add music and make a DVD to the photos and pages you create and share your albums with your family and friends.

Pawn Stars

My Step Mom came to visit me for a few days. I was excited be able to spend time with her as she was in much need of a get away and I don't get a chance to see her very often. When she first came, I asked  her what she wanted to do and if there was anything on the Vegas Strip she was interested in seeing. I was pretty surprised when she said the only thing she really wanted to do was go and see the Gold and Silver Pawn shop off of the Reality TV series "Pawn Stars". Of course she was really wanting to see the guys from the show! Its crazy how on TV things appear bigger than they really are. The Pawn shop from the outside looked pretty small. Inside it was pretty cramped because the place was packed full of people and they just kept on coming! There was some pretty cool stuff to look at and my boys really liked seeing all unique collections of things.  Unfortunately non of the guys were there. They were in New York that week dang it! We all wanted to see Chum Lee! Oh well. It was still fun to go anyway.

Cherry Vanilla Protein Shake

Just about every day I drink a protein shake to  insure that I get enough protein. I lift heavy and train often with my workouts so I could always use the extra protein. I do a lot of experimenting with my protein shakes  by adding different ingredients into my protein powders because I think  Whey  protein powder tastes pretty gross by just adding water.  I seriously can't stomach it!  Shakes are one of my very favorite frozen treats. Nothing like a good strawberry or chocolate shake from In-N-Out Burgers! But at 680 calories and 37 grams of fat I will pass for one of my own! These protein shakes satisfy me just the same and in fact I now prefer them because of the nutritional benefits.

I have really grown to love frozen cherries. Not only are they great in smoothies and shakes but they also make a great healthy treat just eating them by themselves.

                                                                      Ingredients

1/2 scoop Vanilla Whey protein powder
                                                    1/2 banana
                                                    1/4 cup cottage cheese
                                                    1 cup frozen cherries
                                                    1 cup fat free milk
                                                    1 packet of stevia
                                                     handful of ice

Blend all ingredients together and serve

                                                   Nutrition (for the whole shake)

                                                             356 Cals.
                                                             5g  Fat
                                                             26g Protein
                                                             50g Carbs.

Mothers Day

Mothers Day is always such a great day. I get spoiled by my husband and kids. I love to get the gifts that my boys hand make from school and the sweet notes that they write me. I am starting to get a good collection of hand painted pottery!  Also my husband always makes me breakfast in bed and normally he will do all the chores, cook dinner and take care of the kids for me but this year he had to work. Oh well I am just always grateful that he is willing. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful little family. I also love that it is a day  to pay special tribute to my own Mothers and Grandma. It is tradition to go visit them all and bring a present and or yummy treats that they would enjoy.

My mothers day card. Monogram M for Mother. Used a clear transparency sheet for the card and also used the Chevron Stamp set from Paper Tray.

Traditional Dessert Crepes for breakfast that my husband makes. I look forward to these every year. Inside there is Nutella spread, fresh strawberries, raspberries, bananas and cool whip. So yummy!!

My Grandma is allergic to Chocolate so I made her these Carob covered strawberries and Pumpkin muffins with Carob chips. Not a bad alternative to Chocolate!

Teacher gifts

I just can't get enough of making these Monogram paint can teacher gifts.  I just love that I can change the scrapbook paper and they can look so different. I have been making them for the last 3 years and I give them to the teachers at the end of the school year. I figured I would be creative at least at the end of the school year because for teacher appreciation week I pretty much always just get a Bath and Body works gift card or Target gift card for them.  Ever since I  first saw these paint cans at Michaels my brain just went crazy with all the fun things I could do with them. A few years ago I made these Halloween Lanterns out of the smaller clear paint cans that I place on my front Porch every Halloween. There is just endless possibilities that can be done with these awesome cans!

Used my Cricut Machine to cut the letters, circles and scallops The letter I choose is for the teachers last name. Measurement  for the strip that goes around the can  4" wide and I glued two 12" long pieces together and trimmed the excess. For the top lid circle 5 1/2", Monogram circle 5", Scallop 5 1/2", Letters 4" and used shadow cut for the letter mat. I used both the Plantin School book and Storybook cartridge to cut everything out.

I fill the paint cans with school supplies that the teachers can use for next year. I found these cute monogram post its and note cards at Michaels and thought it would be fun to add in the can. Also I add some boxes of their favorite candy. List of supplies I usually add are highlighters, dry erase markers, red pens, black pens, paper clips, staples, push pins, binder clips and pocket size hand sanitizer.

Here are the pics of the paint cans I made for the teachers last year and the year before.
